At the confluence between the latest technologies and ancestral know-how, TIBOU is the first collection of hardware for children developed by Vervloet. The primary function of handles and knobs is to open a door or drawer, but kids often divert their uses by using them as coat racks. When hanging a jacket or a bag on a door handle, the object loses its main function and it becomes difficult even impossible to open the door. To enable this duality, all the elements of the TIBOU collection present a small hook on their front face. It gives the child the opportunity of hanging up what he or she wants without hampering the opening of the door or drawer. In this way, the object is both handy and educative.

LASSO is a suspension made of a steel tube and wire offering a new way of guiding light. Usually unattractive, the electrical cable is here used to direct the lighting by a sliding motion turning it into a nice graphic element. On top of it, the LASSO lamp adopts different triangulations according to your requirements and draws beautiful lines in space. In a nutshell, a contemporary light that is interesting both off and on.

ANIMAL is the result of a reflection on the formal and stereotypical perceptions related to the world of childhood. In an attempt to identify the formal universe in which children aged five, evolve, they were asked to draw tables and dogs. The design of ANIMAL was then created from drawings and the constraints applicable to shape maple wood. In this way, the table takes on a simplified animal appearance, which beyond fun aspirations, allows it to exist without being used. The outgrowth of the shelf which represents a head, gives the child a convenient storage within arm’s reach communicating directly with the work plan.

INDISCIPLINE is a series of porcelain objects which results from the materialization of questions about the boundaries between design and art. Each and everyone unique but originating from the same mould, these ceramics are not functionality-predefined. Deliberately deformed while unmoulding and fortuitous when cooking, this production questions about the usefulness of the object, the influence of a style of production and the limits of the industry. Not unlike personality, these porcelains are the meeting of a predefined mould, voluntary action and chance.

CITRANGE is a double sided hand juicer which can be placed straight onto your glass. The built in funnel not only guides the juice into the glass, it also filters out the seeds. Use the rounded side for big oranges or grapefruits and the pointy side for lemons or limes. So, with the CITRANGE you save a whole step compared to traditional juice squeezing.

CORK is a project that was developed during a workshop at CIAV Meisenthal. The goal was to design new containers for wine starting from existing molds. Simple cylinder deformed at its neck, this carafe is provided with a pouring spout whose diameter is designed to receive the wine stopper. Presented at the service, it helps to precisely identify the wine without its original bottle. The carafe almost disappears to become the pedestal of the cork. The details are not the details. They make the design.

DOLL is a daily pill container composed of a beech base and three plastic cups. This project reinvents the everyday use of medication in a fun and logical way. When lifting a tumbler, you discover pills lodged in the cavity of the underneath container. Different pieces fit together like a Russian doll protecting drugs, health symbols, which are almost sacralized. Due to its transgenerational aesthetic, DOLL is intended to a wide audience and considers the elderly without stigmatizing.

NEWSWASHER is a project developed in a playful, economical and practical perspective. The idea is to market in limited edition an ancient technique to wash the windows that has been lost over the years. NEWSWASHER explains to people how to proceed and informs them about the benefits of recycling paper. The technique distributed to members of the public in a fun way is effective, economical and environmentally friendly. Finally after using NEWSWASHER, the user has understood the process and can apply it down to the newspapers he receives in his mailbox. So the project is on the one hand, opposed to the consumer society but definitely adds a step to the short life of newspapers.

Put into it your seedlings, herbs for the kitchen or small shrubs and tie them to the built-in stake to ensure their hold. Whenever you want to move the pot in order to clean up, create a new organisation in your home or expose plants to the sunlight, simply grasp the handle. This project was developed for the tenth show of Les Petits Riens/Spullenhulp. Each year, this non-profit Belgian organization invites product and fashion designers to create unique pieces from second hand objects and clothes. The artworks are then auctioned as part of the project «Second Hand, Second Life» to raise funds to help poor people.
BRANCH is an open invitation to share your umbrella. When it is raining and you are accompanied, it is often difficult to wait for the other and adjust your stride compared to its own. This double handle allows two people to hold the umbrella and leads them to walk at the same pace. BRANCH is an object that encourages people to move forward together in the rain, to be less individualistic and take time.

SPOT is a playful birdhouse that diverts the traditional wooden nest box by adapting it to the plastics industry. Designed with only one edge, these cutlery are hot stamped which makes it possible to remove the slice present in the cold working. This shape simplification facilitates the perception of knife, fork and spoon. Each piece is defined by an archetypal silouhette where material is added behind to build its volume. Thus, the EDGE flatware are visually separated from the table and just show the image they leave in our collective memory.
